summary

Thousands missing and over 70,000 people left without food and shelter. Support Scouts to continue the emergency relief efforts after the devastating aftermath of hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas.

overview

On September 1st the most powerful storm to ever hit the Bahamas, Hurricane Dorian, made landfall, causing severe flooding, damaging or destroying 13,000 homes, leaving thousands of families with no shelter and limited access to food and water. Scouts from all over the country reacted as first responders to aid the emergency relief efforts conducted. Despite aid received from some international organizations, the efforts are not sufficient, more help is needed.

benefits

Even though some Scouts themselves have lost everything in the hurricane, they are still relentlessly working to rebuild their communities and assist those people most in need. 100% of your donations will go to support the emergency relief push overseen by the Scout Association of the Bahamas.

impact

Your donation will help to contribute to the ongoing work of:- Giving urgent humanitarian assistance for children in the Abaco and Grand Bahama area- Providing basic hygiene supplies to those without shelter- Deliver fresh water to the most vulnerable

risk

Without immediate support, the Grand Bahama and greater Abaco area will remain virtually uninhabitable, with no water, power or food, and delay the efforts to re-build the lives of thousands affected people.
